You can now use your Play Points for DoorDash, groceries, and Google merch.

Play Store customers can now redeem their Play Points for discounts and freebies from companies including DoorDash and Instacart, as noted in a recent announcement by Google on its expansion of its Play Points loyalty program. You can find the offers in the Play Store by going to the Play Points site, clicking the "Use" button, and selecting the "Lifestyle" sorting option. The offers will remain active until Sept. 30. Play Points earned by DoorDash customers can be redeemed for a $10 discount on a single order totaling $25 or more. This deal can be redeemed by new and existing DoorDash customers and is not valid in conjunction with any other discounts or promotions currently being offered.

There are a variety of deals available through Instacart, ranging from a discount of $5 on a grocery order of $35 in exchange for 500 points to a discount of $15 and free food delivery for two months in exchange for 1,750 points. Play Points may now be redeemed for new merch from Google, including sunglasses, dino socks, recycled bottles, t-shirts and crewneck sweatshirts. However, these will only be sold in the United States through the Sept. 30 end date and there is a chance that they will run out of stock.

Users are required to sign up for the Play Points program before they can redeem the deals. These updates are being rolled out first to the Android app version of the Google Play Store, and the opportunity to redeem these deals is not yet available on the web version. The Google Play Points program is a rewards system that enables users to accumulate points by participating in various activities. These activities include acquiring apps and games, completing in-app purchases, and subscribing to the Google One service. Play Points can now be used to pay for in-app purchases. After collecting enough points, one can trade them in for deals, freebies, and other rewards.

Google Play Store customers will likely find the addition of new incentives to the Play Points program to be a positive change. With this update, users will have additional motivation to stay active on the Play Store and earn points that can be redeemed for generous discounts and freebies.
