Airbnb has declared an extension of its policy on pay transparency to include total compensation, encompassing equity awards. This expansion ensures that Airbnb employees worldwide have the opportunity to review the performance equity award targets relevant to their roles.

In 2023, Airbnb began enhancing transparency in its compensation practices by broadening its pay transparency policy and granting global employees access to base pay ranges and bonus targets. According to a news release by Airbnb, the company further extended this initiative to incorporate annual performance equity award targets, ensuring each employee has a comprehensive understanding of their total compensation range.

"We believe increased transparency around base pay is having positive results, including helping drive more consistency in our new hire compensation packages," said Airbnb in a news release.

The initiative's goal is to promote transparency and fairness by providing every employee worldwide with access to their base pay range, bonus target, and annual performance equity award targets. According to another news release by Airbnb, this strategy underscores Airbnb's commitment to equitable compensation practices and aims to equip employees with information about their compensation.

Airbnb's dedication to transparency and equity is evident in its efforts to extend pay transparency measures to include annual performance equity award targets for all global employees. The company has been conducting annual pay equity analyses since 2015, demonstrating its proactive approach towards addressing and minimizing compensation gaps, according to a subsequent news release by Airbnb.

Founded in 2007, Airbnb has seen significant growth, boasting over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 1.5 billion guest arrivals across nearly every country globally. Hosts play a vital role in offering unique stays and experiences while fostering authentic connections between guests and communities worldwide. As of Dec. 31, 2023, Airbnb boasts over 7.7 million active listings in 100,000 cities and towns across 220 countries and regions, according to the About webpage provided by Airbnb.
