Taskrabbit has announced the initiation of the Robinhood Retirement for Independent Workers program. This initiative, developed by Robinhood, is designed specifically for gig economy companies and their freelancers.

Freelancers associated with Taskrabbit will have access to this program and a 2% enhanced match for the first year. GreenPath Financial Wellness, a nonprofit organization, is also offering expert financial guidance and unlimited support through a dedicated phone hotline. According to a press release by Taskrabbit, this program aims to equip Taskers with essential tools and resources for retirement investment, financial advice, and strategic future planning.

Morgan Courtney, director of tasker success at Taskrabbit, expressed her enthusiasm about the new benefits being offered to their community of Taskers. She said in a press release by Taskrabbit, "We’re thrilled to begin offering these new perks to our community of Taskers. Taskrabbit is proud to support Taskers all year long on our platform by giving them consistent access to work opportunities that help them earn a meaningful income on their terms. By implementing Robinhood’s new Retirement For Independent Workers program, we’ll now be able to offer Taskers the ability to own their financial futures."

Steven Quirk, chief brokerage officer of Robinhood also commented on this collaboration. He said in a press release by Taskrabbit that "Robinhood Retirement For Independent Workers brings us closer to our goal of giving everyone the financial tools they need to invest in their futures. Together with our first partners Gopuff, Grubhub, and Taskrabbit, Robinhood will now be able to offer a path to retirement savings for people who don’t have access to traditional retirement accounts or corporate matching programs."

Taskrabbit is a global gig platform that serves millions annually. The company was acquired by IKEA in 2017 and offers various home-related tasks using a remote-first approach. Founded in 2008, according to the Taskrabbit webpage, it has facilitated over 9 million tasks across more than 35 categories, with a team of 300 employees spanning nine countries.
