DoorDash announced updates on the insights and results from its Dasher Community Council (DCC) over the past year. The DCC consists of a diverse group of Dashers providing feedback to improve the platform.
DoorDash has recently implemented several updates based on feedback from its Dasher Community Council. Notably, the introduction of post-checkout tipping allows customers to adjust tips up to 30 days after delivery, addressing a longstanding concern among Dashers. Additionally, DoorDash is piloting new in-app preferences that enable Dashers to select preferred delivery types, according to a press release by DoorDash.
"It’s an honor to be part of the DoorDash Community Council," said Tamara, a DCC Member and Dasher from Sacramento, CA. "Through this experience, I helped implement important, helpful changes that gave customers the ability to leave a tip after their orders. That was something that was really important to me because – as someone who takes customer service seriously – I was essentially being tipped based on the customer's past experiences."
Safety enhancements have also been a focus for DoorDash following insights from the DCC. According to DoorDash, the company introduced in-app porch-light reminders to enhance safety during nighttime deliveries and launched SafeChat+, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor and prevent verbal abuse or harassment in communications. The company is also working to refine its deactivation processes based on ongoing feedback from Dashers.
