Fiverr has announced the release of new research focused on understanding managers' considerations during and after recent layoffs, as well as their strategies for supporting teams post-layoffs using freelancers. The research aims to uncover insights into how businesses are leveraging freelancers to navigate workforce transitions and maintain operational continuity.

According to the research, the main reasons for layoffs include adopting new technology with artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance efficiency, reducing staff with lighter responsibilities, skills-based redundancies, and less frequently, over-hiring and expansion. Executives are supporting their teams post-layoff by providing access to freelancers to manage reduced workloads and receive assistance from other departments. A majority have hired freelancers after layoffs, with 21% planning to hire within six months and 8% within twelve months. Executives see freelancers as crucial in balancing workloads, boosting morale, and allowing focus on long-term solutions. Many believe this approach could reduce future layoffs, according to a press release by Fiverr.
