Airbnb announced a significant increase in searches for stays in Europe by Americans during Taylor Swift's tour dates across the continent, rising nearly 70% compared to last year. As Taylor Swift continues her European tour this summer, followed by a return to North America in the fall to conclude her tour, Airbnb anticipates continued high demand for accommodations in these regions.

According to Airbnb, during Taylor Swift's European tour dates, over two-thirds of nights booked by Americans on Airbnb were by women, with American guests making up almost a third of all bookings in these destinations. This trend illustrates the growing practice of planning trips around major events, termed "event-cations." Taylor Swift's tour has had a significant economic impact, as evidenced by more than 250,000 Airbnb bookings during her U.S. tour dates last year. Anticipation for her North American tour dates is high, with a notable increase in searches for accommodations.

Airbnb hosts are presented with opportunities to provide lodging for the increased number of guests during Taylor Swift's tour. This effect extends beyond the cities hosting the concerts, with neighboring areas also seeing increased tourism and economic activity. In 2023, Airbnb reported travel to over 100,000 cities and towns worldwide, marking the most geographically widespread year for the platform. The U.S. Travel Association estimates that Taylor Swift's U.S. tour has generated over $10 billion in economic activity, with Airbnb contributing more than $77 million during the tour dates.

Founded in 2007, Airbnb boasts over 5 million Hosts who have welcomed over 1.5 billion guest arrivals across nearly every country globally. Hosts offer stays and experiences to foster connections between guests and communities worldwide. As of Dec. 31, 2023, Airbnb has had over 7.7 million active listings in 100,000 cities and towns across 220 countries and regions.
