Amazon employees can take advantage of exclusive benefits and access to earned cash before payday, the company revealed in a January 8 blog post.
According to Amazon, when it comes to employees’ health, the company offers multiple benefits that may not be widely known. Employees who have Cigna, Aetna, or Premera insurance through Amazon can get discounts on prescription drugs—$5 per 30-day prescription or $10 off of 90-day prescriptions. Additionally, there is a team dedicated to working with employees and family members dealing with cancer diagnoses. The Amazon Cancer Advocacy, Resources, Education, and Support (CARES) program offers one-on-one support for employees and their family members (including hourly employees) diagnosed with cancer.
Amazon also provides free mental health support for employees and their families. Through Amazon’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP), employees and those in their household, including children and teens, can receive five free counseling sessions per year.
For employees who have been with the company for a year or longer, family leave is available. According to the blog post, birthing parents have access to up to 20 weeks of fully paid leave (including the four weeks before giving birth). The company also offers six weeks of paid leave to spouses and partners. Furthermore, if parents need flexibility to adjust to changes brought by an infant or adopted child, there is an 8-week Ramp-Back program that allows employees to work partial hours.
Among other benefits, Amazon allows employees to access up to 70% of the money they’ve earned through the Amazon Pay program. This benefit is available to many Amazon employees, including those in most corporate offices.
These are just a few of the unique perks that Amazon employees enjoy.
