Amazon has announced preparations for its largest sales events of the year, focusing on hiring, training, and increasing employee numbers to manage the holiday season's demand. The company has a detailed plan in place to ensure successful shopping events.

According to Amazon, it prioritizes hiring and training for its U.S. operations, planning to hire 250,000 employees for full-time, part-time, and seasonal roles in preparation for high-demand shopping events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Each new employee undergoes rigorous safety training to minimize the risk of injury, learning how to properly handle products and equipment. Emergency preparedness is also a key focus, with each site having detailed plans for weather-related disruptions and regular emergency drills to ensure workers know how to evacuate or shelter in place if needed.

During busy holiday seasons, Amazon expands its transportation operations. These facilities handle the process of picking, packing, sorting, and routing packages to delivery drivers, ensuring timely delivery to customers. Delivery Service Partners are included in Amazon’s Peak Team Meal program, which provides reimbursed meals and gift cards as recognition for their efforts.

"Sites are buzzing with excitement during the event, and leaders arrange things like barbecues and ping pong tournaments to build on that energy and thank our employees for everything they do."

Amazon provides a range of services including online and in-person shopping, delivery of fresh produce, media distribution through platforms like Alexa and Fire TV, cloud solutions via Amazon Web Services (AWS), logistics and customer service operations, as well as entertainment through platforms such as Amazon Originals, Prime Video, and Audible.
