Pamela Zaballa, CEO of the NO MORE Foundation, said that their partnership with Uber's Driving Change initiative has been "instrumental" in combating gender-based violence through collaborations with non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Zaballa made this statement on Uber's website on December 10, 2024.

“Uber’s proactive approach through the Driving Change initiative marks a significant advancement in the collective effort to eradicate gender-based violence,” Zaballa said. “Our collaboration with Uber has been instrumental in broadening the scope and impact of our programs.”

According to its website, Uber's Driving Change initiative, launched in 2017, aims to combat gender-based violence (GBV) through partnerships with NGOs like NO MORE. The initiative invests in prevention programs and improves safety features on the Uber platform. Key initiatives for 2024 included a global awareness campaign, support for GBV research, and a human trafficking campaign that reached 1.8 million users in Latin America.

The European Commission defines gender-based violence as any violence directed against a person based on their gender, disproportionately affecting women and girls. It encompasses physical, sexual, psychological, and economic harm and includes domestic violence, sexual harassment, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, and online violence.

The NO MORE Foundation is a global initiative dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence. Through partnerships with NGOs, corporations, and individuals, the foundation leverages media, entertainment, and technology to raise awareness, inspire action, and drive cultural change.

Uber is a technology company that provides ride-hailing, food delivery, and other mobility services through its mobile app. Founded in 2009, Uber operates in numerous countries and cities worldwide.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Zaballa leads the NO MORE Foundation as a global leader in combating domestic and sexual violence. Her expertise lies in nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, and building impactful partnerships.
