Grubhub has announced a new partnership with Walgreens to include Walgreens and Duane Reade locations nationwide on its platform. This collaboration will allow customers access to 15,000 items for on-demand delivery, such as beauty products, health and wellness items, snacks, personal care products, household items, and toys.

Craig Whitmer, vice president of new verticals at Grubhub, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We’re excited to add Walgreens and Duane Reade to offer customers a robust selection of convenience retailers on Grubhub.” He emphasized the significance of working with another Chicago-based company and highlighted the focus on key markets like Chicago and New York City.

Sharmila Sudhakar from Walgreens noted that customer expectations are evolving: “Customers today expect to get what they want, when they want it, how they want it.” She stated that adding Grubhub as a delivery partner aligns with these expectations by providing a simple same-day solution for essential items.

Walgreens and Duane Reade are now part of Grubhub+, the company's loyalty program offering benefits like $0 delivery fees and lower service fees on eligible orders. The addition marks an expansion in Grubhub's convenience offerings across the country.

Grubhub is a major U.S. ordering and delivery marketplace featuring 375,000 merchants in over 4,000 cities. Walgreens operates approximately 8,500 stores across the U.S. and Puerto Rico under its parent company Walgreens Boots Alliance.
