Airbnb has announced the latest recipients of its Community Fund grants, which total over $8.5 million distributed to more than 160 organizations across 30 countries on six continents. The Airbnb Community Fund, initiated in 2020, is a $100 million effort aimed at directly supporting local communities and their residents.
Each year, Airbnb collaborates with hosts to identify pressing issues and select nonprofit organizations for donations. "Each year, we’re proud to partner with hosts to identify important issues and many of the non-profit organizations to receive donations," an Airbnb representative stated. The involvement of hosts is crucial as they are deeply connected to their communities, helping direct most of the fund's donations.
This year's grants focus on three key areas: economic empowerment, environmental sustainability, and ending abuse and exploitation. These priorities were identified by the Airbnb Host Advisory Board as significant to the global host community.
Recipients include national and regional organizations across various regions. In Asia-Pacific, Europe and the UK, Africa, Latin America, as well as the United States and Canada, numerous nonprofits have been selected for funding. Notable examples include Save Jeju Sea in South Korea; La Grande Casa in Italy; Yachana Foundation in Ecuador; and Paso del Norte Center of Hope in Texas.
The selection process involved members from 85 Host Clubs—nearly double from last year—who nominated local nonprofits making impactful contributions in their communities. "Members of local Host Clubs...nominated local, community-based non-profit organizations making a difference in their communities," according to Airbnb.
Since its inception, the Airbnb Community Fund has distributed over $36 million globally with significant input from hosts each year. Past recipients have expressed how these funds have supported their initiatives.

The distribution of this year's grants took place between July 2024 and early 2025. Airbnb collaborates with grantmaking partners to ensure due diligence and facilitate payments to grantees.
