Grubhub has announced an investment of over $12 million in U.S. communities through its Grubhub Community Fund (GCF) and other initiatives, as detailed in the company's latest Community Impact Report. This report not only outlines their 2024 efforts but also reflects on two decades of community impact as the company marks its 20th anniversary.

The GCF, supported by diner donations via Grubhub's app and website, receives matching contributions from Grubhub up to $4 million annually for eligible orders. The fund aims to address three primary areas: closing the hunger gap, creating opportunities in hospitality, and supporting independent restaurants.

This past year saw significant growth with a 58% increase in organizations supported through the GCF, reaching over 140 new entities. Additionally, more than $300,000 was allocated to nearly 70 organizations nationwide through two new grant programs designed for drivers and employees.

A key event was the first-ever office-wide volunteer day where over 100 employees assisted in repacking food for local distribution by the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Dave Tovar, Senior Vice President of Communications & Government Relations at Grubhub stated: “Since Grubhub was founded in 2004, we have been committed to leaving the communities where we operate better than we found them.”

In its second year, Grubhub's Full Plate Program expanded from Chicago to New York City. In partnership with Food Bank for New York City (FBNYC), grants up to $10,000 were awarded to nonprofits within FBNYC’s Member Network. Through this initiative, $714,500 was distributed across more than 90 programs aimed at providing nutritious food and beverages.

Zanita Tisdale from FBNYC expressed gratitude: “Our members are on the frontlines of New York City’s growing hunger crisis... these funds will not only help them provide more food to their neighbors but also secure critical equipment.”

Looking forward, Grubhub plans to seek new partnerships and enhance existing ones to continue driving change within communities they serve.
