The Wheel of Time, a widely acclaimed fantasy book series with over 90 million copies sold, has been adapted into a television series for Prime Video. The show follows Moiraine, a member of the Aes Sedai, as she embarks on a journey from the Two Rivers with five young individuals. One among them is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, destined to either save or destroy humanity.
Season 3 of The Wheel of Time will premiere on March 13 on Prime Video. This season introduces new characters such as Shohreh Aghdashloo and others to the cast.
Rosamund Pike plays Moiraine Damodred, who seeks the Dragon Reborn in this adaptation. Her journey leads her to Rand al’Thor, portrayed by Josha Stradowski, who discovers his identity as the Dragon Reborn. Daniel Henney plays al’Lan Mandragoran, Moiraine’s Warder and protector.
Zoë Robins portrays Nynaeve al’Meara, a powerful channeler training to become an Aes Sedai. Madeleine Madden plays Egwene al’Vere, another channeler with ties to Rand. Marcus Rutherford is Perrin Aybara, a wolfbrother communicating with wolves. Dónal Finn plays Mat Cauthon, a friend of Rand’s who struggles with dark influences.
New characters in Season 3 include Elaida do Avriny a’Roihan (Shohreh Aghdashloo), Faile Bashere (Isabella Bucceri), Bair (Nukâka Coster-Waldau), Melaine (Salóme Gunnarsdóttir), Rhuarc (Björn Landberg), Melindhra (Synnøve Macody Lund), and Aviendha (Ayoola Smart).
Villains returning in Season 3 include Lanfear (Natasha O’Keeffe) and Moghedien (Laia Costa). The Andor royal family will also be featured more prominently with Queen Morgase Trakand (Olivia Williams) and Elayne’s brothers Lord Galad (Callum Kerr) and Lord Gawyn (Luke Fetherston).
