Uber Transit has announced an update to its partnership with Uber Eats and the University of Miami, aimed at supporting the Hurricanes football team's nutrition program through meal delivery solutions. The announcement was made in a news release on January 6, 2025.

According to Uber Transit, the program offers athletes a dedicated Uber Eats meal allowance since spring 2024, providing them with the flexibility to order meals before or after practices, classes, and games. This initiative is designed to help players maintain their nutrition despite demanding schedules.

The goal of the initiative is to optimize athlete performance and recovery by ensuring consistent access to well-balanced meals, even during late-night training or travel. Chipotle burrito bowls have emerged as one of the most popular meal choices due to their balanced mix of protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats. Additionally, the program aids budget management for the athletic department by utilizing university-sponsored Uber Eats profiles to track meal allowances and usage.

Uber Transit offers customized on-demand transportation solutions for colleges and universities, including subsidized rides for students, faculty, and staff. The services provided under Uber for higher education include late-night rides, meals programs, campus accessibility enhancements, guaranteed rides home, alternatives to driving under the influence, and transportation for events and faculty. According to Uber Transit, safety is prioritized through background checks and in-app features such as Verify My Ride and Emergency Assistance. The platform allows schools to manage transportation programs efficiently with options like vouchers, one-time rides, and reporting tools for monitoring usage and tracking budgets.

Uber Transit collaborates with public transit agencies to enhance community mobility through technology and service solutions. It connects riders to Uber for first- and last-mile programs as well as late-night rides during service disruptions. The company also addresses paratransit needs while optimizing costs and capacity. Agencies can integrate Uber’s API into their apps for easy ride booking. Furthermore, Uber offers customizable programs that include ride subsidies and centralized scheduling tailored to meet community needs. According to its website, over 80 transit agencies worldwide utilize Uber Transit’s services.
