Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., has announced the general availability of a new feature in its business intelligence service, Amazon QuickSight. The feature, known as Amazon Q in QuickSight, enables employees to perform advanced data analysis using natural language without needing specialized skills.
The new scenarios capability of Amazon Q in QuickSight uses an AI agent to allow employees to engage with data and receive expert guidance through natural language queries. This tool aims to help users uncover trends, make recommendations, and identify business opportunities more efficiently.
Dilip Kumar, vice president of Amazon Q Business at AWS, stated: “We are at the beginning of a workplace transformation driven by agents, and Amazon QuickSight is pioneering how this technology can break down the technical barriers between employees and their data.”
Amazon Q in QuickSight is designed to enhance productivity for data analysts by enabling them to build complex models and perform analyses significantly faster than traditional methods like spreadsheets. It also ensures security and privacy by not using customer data or inputs for model training.
Companies such as Availity and BMW Group are already utilizing this new capability. For instance, BMW Group leverages it to manage inventory across vehicles efficiently. They have found that using natural language queries allows them to conduct detailed investigations quickly.
The service is used by over 100,000 customers worldwide, including major companies like Docebo and GoDaddy. It offers features such as interactive dashboards and embedded analytics that facilitate better decision-making processes.
With this new capability, AWS continues its expansion into AI-powered solutions aimed at improving how businesses interact with their data. More information about this announcement can be found on AWS's website.
