A recent survey of 250 homeowners has revealed insights into the timing and reasons behind lawn mowing habits. The findings indicate a split in preferences based on temperature considerations and neighborly respect.

Many respondents, particularly those in hotter regions, choose to mow before 8 a.m. to avoid high temperatures. One respondent shared, "I work night shifts... I've moved to a back room so I hear it less." About 26.8% of participants cited early morning mowing as a strategy to beat the heat.

Conversely, 36.8% of homeowners prefer mowing after 8 a.m., primarily to avoid disturbing neighbors. A common practice is waiting until 8 a.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. on weekends.

Electric mower owners enjoy the flexibility of mowing at any time due to quieter operation compared to gas-powered mowers, which are likened to the noise level of motorcycles (95 decibels). Electric mowers produce about 75 decibels, similar to washing machines.

The survey also highlights optimal mowing times for lawn health: mid-morning is ideal as it allows grass time to heal before evening dew sets in, while late afternoon is another suitable option if morning isn't feasible.

GreenPal offers solutions for those struggling with lawn maintenance by providing quotes from $25 to $45 online without haggling over prices.
