Bank of Ayudhya PCL, commonly known as Krungsri, is expediting its cloud migration using Amazon Web Services (AWS). The bank, ranking fifth largest in Thailand, has managed to reduce its migration time by over 50% through the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI). This advancement forms part of a broader AI strategy aimed at enhancing financial management and crime prevention capabilities.
Krungsri employs generative AI agents, created with Amazon Bedrock, to automate the conversion of programming scripts from on-premises to cloud environments. AWS services such as Amazon SageMaker, AWS Lambda, and Amazon EventBridge support this transformation, effectively halving the migration time compared to traditional manual conversions.
The bank's AI-driven approach not only facilitates current projects but also sets a foundation for future migrations and data transformation tasks. By crafting reusable AI assets, Krungsri ensures consistent code transformation across various projects, including scripts, data warehouses, and data marts. The bank is well-positioned to meet Thailand's recent regulations banning accounts used for financial crimes.
Krungsri's use of AWS services extends beyond cloud migration. They have developed AI-driven solutions for property valuation, which have significantly reduced the need for on-site assessments, saving the bank substantial costs and time. Additionally, Krungsri employs machine learning to optimize cash replenishment for ATMs, consolidating thousands of models into a few predictive systems to manage cash distribution more efficiently.
