Airbnb has entered into a three-year partnership with the organizers of the Tour de France and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. This collaboration aims to offer fans an authentic experience of the races while promoting French communities and culture along the route.
Last year, approximately 10 million people gathered to watch the Tour de France. A study by OpinionWay indicates that one in four French people plan to book stays in destinations highlighted by the event. With over 100,000 listings available along the route, Airbnb hosts are prepared to welcome spectators. The company is also launching exclusive Experiences along La Grande Boucle, allowing attendees and the public to engage with local treasures near the race path.
For the first time, fans can cycle alongside Mark Cavendish at Grand Palais, commemorating when the Tour concluded there in 2017. Brian Chesky, Airbnb co-founder and CEO, stated: “Airbnb is in 29,000 French communes, enabling millions of guests each year to explore the diversity of France... we are proud to partner with Men and Women Tour de France.”
Christian Prudhomme, Director of the Tour de France, added: “The Tour de France has always been a celebration of... locals who are key players. We’re delighted to partner with Airbnb.”
To celebrate the 2025 finale, Mark Cavendish will host a free Airbnb experience at Grand Palais for 20 guests. Cavendish expressed excitement about this opportunity: “I’ve experienced numerous victories... I am incredibly excited to share this exclusive Airbnb experience.”
This event will occur on July 26-27, 2025. Interested participants can request bookings starting May 27 on airbnb.com/cavendish.
From today until early July, hundreds of unique experiences will be available on Airbnb along with behind-the-scenes access created with Tour de France personalities.
Earlier this month, Airbnb introduced new offerings under Airbnb Originals—experiences hosted by notable individuals exclusively for their platform. As fans book accommodations along La Grande Boucle’s path through these new options they’ll find additional engaging activities related directly back into everything happening around them during one incredible journey across some truly beautiful landscapes throughout all regions involved within such events like never before possible!
Local hosts will provide unique experiences showcasing regional specialties including craft classes or insider tours connecting visitors more deeply than ever imagined possible before now too! To explore these opportunities visit airbnb.com/tourdefrance25.
