Amazon has unveiled the Amazon Key Access Control System, a set of customizable access solutions for multi-family buildings and gated communities. This system aims to streamline deliveries and building access, allowing users to control entry to their property remotely.
Kaushik Mani, director of Amazon Key, explained the system's benefits: “Our new Access Control System takes this to the next level, introducing a range of new tools and options designed for property managers and residents who live in multi-family buildings and gated communities. It provides building managers and residents with a range of modern, digital tools that enable them to conveniently and securely manage access to buildings and homes.”
The system includes four solutions: Virtual Key, Intercom Boost, Intercom Lite, and Intercom Plus. These solutions are professionally installed to facilitate easy entry into buildings using smartphone-based controls. They aim to replace traditional intercoms with features like online access management and virtual keys.
Gabriel Siegal from Charney Property Management shared his experience with the system: “We chose the Amazon Key Access Control System because it offered an affordable, modern replacement for aging intercoms... The interface has elevated the tenant experience while also streamlining our building operations.”
The Virtual Key and Intercom Lite are currently available for order, while Intercom Boost and Intercom Plus will be released this summer. Interested parties can see demonstrations at Apartmentalize in Las Vegas from June 11-13 or visit amazon.com/key-access-system for more information.
Amazon Key has been providing access solutions since 2017, starting with Seattle garages. It now serves various properties across multiple continents.
