This summer, Airbnb is offering a unique opportunity for two families to experience life as a Smurf in the Belgian woods. This initiative celebrates the upcoming release of "Smurfs" from Paramount Animation and will be available as an Airbnb Experience.
The four-hour event will include activities inspired by the Smurfs, such as decorating hats, archery, and learning a dance routine from the new movie. Guests can enjoy these activities without concern about Gargamel's presence.
Nicolas Tytgat, grandson of The Smurfs creator Peyo, will host the event. He will guide guests through these activities while immersing them in the world of the Smurfs. The experience is scheduled for Sunday, August 3, 2025.
Clement Eulry, General Manager of France and Benelux at Airbnb, expressed excitement about bringing The Smurfs back to Belgium. "We’re so excited to bring The Smurfs back to the Belgian countryside – the place that inspired Peyo all those years ago – as part of our completely reimagined Experiences," he said. Eulry emphasized that this offers families a chance to connect with nature and explore hidden gems.
Nicolas Tytgat shared his enthusiasm: “I grew up surrounded by the magic of the Smurfs, so to bring fans to Belgium, the birthplace of the Smurfs, and into the world that my Grandad created, is something truly special."
Irene Trachtenberg from Paramount Pictures highlighted their excitement about this partnership with Airbnb: “We’re thrilled to bring the blue magic of the Smurfs from the big screen to life in this incredible partnership with Airbnb."
The exclusive experience will be available for two families during two separate sessions on August 3. Booking opens on July 16 at airbnb.com/smurfsmovie and is free for up to four guests per family. Travel costs are not included.
The "Smurfs" movie is set for worldwide release in July 2025.
