Taskrabbit has announced that its home services platform is now available in all 50 U.S. states after a major expansion. The move includes the launch of services in 50 new cities and extends access to nine additional states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

“At Taskrabbit, we’re focused on helping people live better — whether that means upgrading and maintaining their homes, or building a flexible income stream for self-employed workers,” said Ania Smith, CEO of Taskrabbit. “Expanding to all 50 states allows us to unlock that experience for even more clients, Taskers, and partners, in communities big and small. For me, this expansion is particularly meaningful, as Taskrabbit now serves Sioux Falls, South Dakota – the city where I first arrived in the U.S. at age 12 and worked various jobs to help support my family. It’s incredibly rewarding to bring these kinds of earning opportunities back to the community that gave me my start, and to similar communities across the country.”

The digital platform connects users with local workers who provide services such as furniture assembly (including as IKEA’s sole provider), moving assistance, mounting tasks, home repairs and cleaning. According to the company website (www.taskrabbit.com/locations), Taskers are background-checked before being listed on the platform.

Taskers can choose when and where they work and receive full payment for their hourly rates plus any tips from clients. In the United States over the past year nearly 875,000 five-star reviews were given for completed tasks. On average in the U.S., Taskers earn $47 per hour though this varies by location.

This nationwide rollout also increases opportunities for retail partnerships through initiatives like Taskrabbit Partner Pages and follows several years of double-digit growth since 2018.

Taskrabbit was acquired by Ingka Group (IKEA) in 2017. It operates across thousands of cities in eight countries worldwide including Canada and much of Europe; it is also present inside more than 200 IKEA stores globally.
