Uber has announced the launch of a new electric vehicle (EV) incentive program in collaboration with the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment. The initiative aims to support drivers transitioning to electric vehicles.

The program offers drivers $100 for every 100 trips completed in a battery or fuel-cell electric vehicle, with a cap at $2,000. The initiative commenced on April 3, 2025, and will be available until December 31, 2025, or until funds are depleted. Only rideshare trips through the Uber platform qualify for this incentive. According to Uber’s blog, "Drivers will earn $100 for every 100 trips completed in an EV, up to a maximum of $2,000 for the program period."

According to Sahm, Colorado drivers can combine multiple incentives to maximize savings. State-level incentives include up to $6,000 in tax credits for purchasing a new EV and up to $6,000 for trading in an older vehicle. These can be combined with the federal EV tax credit of up to $7,500. Eligible drivers could potentially benefit from up to $21,500 in total savings.

Uber also provides its "Zero Emissions" incentive: drivers who complete 200 rides in a qualifying EV within a 30-day period can earn an additional amount ranging from $100 to $250 depending on the city. Additionally, Uber is organizing an "EV experience day" on August 27 at Denver’s Lowry Conference Center where drivers can test drive EV models and receive guidance on navigating the incentive program.

Colorado is actively promoting electric vehicle adoption through various programs. The state's initiative, EV CO, highlights potential eligibility for up to $6,000 in state EV tax credits and up to $13,500 when combined with federal incentives—though these expire on September 30, 2025.

Uber Technologies Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, operates globally offering ride-hailing and other mobility services across more than 70 countries. The company is expanding its sustainability initiatives with a commitment to becoming a zero-emission mobility platform by 2040 across the U.S. and Canada.
