Brainbase Labs has announced the launch of Kafka Workforce, a new platform designed to allow enterprises to create and deploy highly-specialized AI employees. The platform, built on Amazon Web Services (AWS), enables companies to onboard AI workers tailored for specific roles within an hour using natural language instructions.
Kafka Workforce builds upon Brainbase’s previous release of Kafka, an advanced AI employee. According to the company, these AI workers come equipped with their own computer and can be accessed through common workplace channels such as email, phone, and Slack. This approach aims to make AI integration into existing teams seamless and familiar for enterprise users.
The company states that many current agentic AI solutions do not provide the necessary customization or control required by large organizations, often forcing businesses either to adopt limited vertical products or build their own tools from scratch at significant cost. With Kafka Workforce, Brainbase Labs offers a single central platform where enterprises can design specialized AI employees for various roles while maintaining privacy and security standards provided by AWS.
“In an enterprise, for every one mainstream role like engineer or recruiter, there are probably ten roles that are highly specialized to the processes and structure of that organization. For example, one of our customers is a large European airline that has a three-person team just for carbon emissions calculations—it’s simply not possible to find a vertical AI solution for a role like this,“ said Brainbase Labs CEO and Founder Gokhan Egri. “These specialized teams add up. Kafka Workforce utilizes AWS cloud infrastructure and its suite of artificial intelligence services—including foundation models available on Amazon Bedrock—to provide scalable deployment options that integrate with existing enterprise environments. This ensures compliance requirements are met while allowing businesses to scale their use of AI employees as needed.

The platform allows each Kafka employee access to tools such as browsers, coding terminals, file systems, email accounts, phone numbers, Slack channels, and more than 1,000 applications commonly used in business environments. This enables them to complete tasks ranging from data analysis to code reviews autonomously.
Brainbase Labs emphasizes its goal of making these AI workers nearly indistinguishable from remote human employees by simulating high-fidelity digital environments similar to those used by people in enterprise settings. Onboarding is conducted via standard methods such as chat interactions or video demonstrations rather than custom development.
