Uber has announced the launch of "Uber One for Students," a membership offering exclusive back-to-school benefits, alongside the preview of its campus One Arcade tour. The announcement was made on X, previously known as Twitter.

According to Uber's August 20 post, the company unveiled this student-specific version of its subscription program in time for the start of the academic year. The promotion includes a traveling experiential pop-up called "The One Arcade," which will visit college campuses across the United States this fall. This initiative aims to engage students with interactive experiences and showcase membership benefits. Uber described it as an essential tool for students on the move.

Uber's membership page indicates that Uber One for Students is priced at $4.99 per month and offers students $0 delivery fees on eligible orders, up to 10% off delivery and pickup, and 6% cash back on qualifying Uber rides. These benefits are designed to appeal to budget-conscious students by providing cost savings and convenience.

As reported by Restaurant Dive during Uber’s Go-Get 2024 rollout, the company expanded the Uber One for Students program internationally. It offers students the option to pay $4.99 per month or $48 per year, approximately half the traditional Uber One price. The program includes unique perks such as free items and discounts from popular brands like Starbucks, Domino’s, and Taco Bell as part of member-only promotional offerings aimed at student audiences. Khosrowshahi said that Uber's strategy aligns with broader efforts to build brand loyalty among Gen Z and college-aged consumers through exclusive memberships.

According to Uber’s official website, Uber Technologies, Inc., based in San Francisco, is a global technology company connecting users with services in mobility, delivery, and freight logistics across more than 70 countries. Since its founding in 2009, Uber has expanded beyond ride-hailing to include food delivery through Uber Eats and logistic-based solutions while advancing into autonomous vehicle development and electric mobility initiatives. The company's diversified platform continues to evolve with consumer-focused innovations like Uber One and its student-specific membership offerings.
