Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video have announced a slate of nine films set for release in fall 2025, including both theatrical premieres and streaming exclusives. The lineup features a range of genres, from action thrillers and dramas to romantic comedies and documentaries.
Among the highlighted releases is "Play Dirty," directed by Shane Black, which follows a thief and his crew as they encounter an unexpected heist opportunity. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, LaKeith Stanfield, Rosa Salazar, Keegan-Michael Key, Chukwudi Iwuji, Nat Wolff, Thomas Jane, and Tony Shalhoub. It will be available on Prime Video starting October 1.
"Maintenance Required," debuting October 8 on Prime Video, centers on Charlie, the owner of an all-female mechanic shop who faces challenges when a corporate competitor opens nearby. The cast includes Madelaine Petsch and Jacob Scipio.
"After the Hunt," scheduled for theatrical release on October 10, is described as a psychological drama about a college professor at a crossroads following an accusation against a colleague. Julia Roberts leads the cast alongside Ayo Edebiri and Andrew Garfield.
Also premiering October 10 on Prime Video is "John Candy: I Like Me." Directed by Colin Hanks with Ryan Reynolds as producer, this documentary explores the life of comedian John Candy through home videos and interviews with family members and collaborators.
The Spanish-language romance trilogy concludes with "Culpa Nuestra" ("Our Fault"), arriving October 16 on Prime Video. Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara star in this story about reconciliation after heartbreak.
"Hedda," opening in theaters October 22 under director Nia DaCosta, offers a modern take on Henrik Ibsen’s play with Tessa Thompson leading the cast.
Tyler Perry’s "Finding Joy" comes to Prime Video November 5. The film follows Shannon Thornton as Joy—a New York fashion designer navigating career setbacks and personal relationships during the holiday season.
In theaters November 7 is "Sarah’s Oil," based on the true story of Sarah Rector—an African American girl in early-1900s Oklahoma who discovers oil beneath her land. Zachary Levi and Naya Desir-Johnson are among those featured in the cast.
Finally, "Oh. What. Fun." debuts December 3 on Prime Video. The movie tells the story of Claire Clauster organizing her own Christmas outing after being forgotten by her family.
Additionally, Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed that Denis Villeneuve will direct the next James Bond film; Tanya Lapointe will serve as executive producer alongside previously announced producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman.
The full schedule reflects Amazon's ongoing efforts to expand its entertainment offerings through both original productions for streaming audiences and traditional theatrical releases.
