Uber has announced a revamped grocery delivery service through Uber Eats, introducing the "Fresh Days" discount program, improved order control features, and a nationwide integration with ALDI that accepts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Electronic Benefit Transfer (SNAP-EBT) payments. This development was disclosed in a press release.
According to Uber's official newsroom announcement, the Fresh Days program provides weekly discounts of up to 50% on fresh items such as fruits, vegetables, meats, and dairy. The initiative is currently available in markets including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Africa, France, Japan, Taiwan, and Spain. Uber plans further expansion. In the U.S., members of Uber One receive an exclusive 30% discount on select fresh items every Tuesday.
As reported by Grocery Dive, Uber has introduced new order customization tools aimed at enhancing user control and reliability. Customers can now choose how unavailable items are replaced using AI-powered suggestions. They can also edit orders until the shopper adds items to their cart and receive photos of substitutions or unavailable items for real-time approval of swaps or refunds. The company has also launched a "Fresh Guarantee" policy: if fresh items arrive spoiled, past date, damaged, or stale, users may request refunds or replacements subject to proof and time limits.
In its press release regarding the ALDI partnership, Uber states that over 2,500 ALDI stores across the U.S. will be added to the Uber Eats platform. This integration allows users access to ALDI’s curated grocery inventory. Notably, ALDI becomes the first retailer on Uber Eats to accept SNAP-EBT payments nationwide from day one. To promote this launch, Uber offers 40% off ALDI orders of $30 or more (up to $25) with promo code ALDIUBER25. Additionally, Uber One members benefit from free delivery on eligible orders.
