Amazon announced on its website that eight companies have progressed to the next phase of its 16-week Devices Climate Tech Accelerator. This program is designed to expedite climate innovations into millions of Amazon devices globally.
According to Amazon’s official newsroom, the Devices Climate Tech Accelerator was launched in March 2025 to identify startups capable of helping reduce the carbon footprint of Amazon devices. The program emphasizes innovations such as advanced battery technology, sustainable materials, and energy efficiency solutions that align with Amazon’s Climate Pledge. By engaging directly with climate tech entrepreneurs, Amazon aims to merge customer experience with measurable emissions reductions.
Amazon reported that the final cohort of eight companies was chosen after an initial round that included 14 startups announced in July 2025. The selection process required participants to use Amazon’s unique PR-FAQ model—working backwards from customer needs—to demonstrate how their technologies could reduce carbon impacts. This rigorous approach ensures only the most practical, scalable innovations advance toward potential integration into millions of devices.
The eight advancing companies are Aircarbon, Amprius, Azumo, Elephantech, GRST, Heartland, Jiva Materials, and Quantum Cool. Each company is pursuing breakthroughs in areas such as biodegradable plastics, next-generation lithium-ion batteries, and ultra-efficient cooling systems for electronics. These firms will continue with workshops, mentorship from Amazon leaders and external experts, and a final pitch event to executives in November 2025.
