John Candy: I Like Me, a documentary directed by Colin Hanks and produced by Ryan Reynolds, will be released globally on Prime Video on Friday, October 10. The film explores the life and career of the late actor John Candy, using archival footage, images, and interviews with those who knew him best.

The documentary premiered as the opening night film at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival on September 4. It features commentary from several of Candy’s collaborators, including Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Dan Aykroyd, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, Eugene Levy, and Macaulay Culkin.

The creative team behind the film includes director Colin Hanks, as well as Sean Stuart, Glen Zipper, Ryan Reynolds, George Dewey, Johnny Pariseau, and Shane Reid. Co-executive producers are Chris Candy, Jennifer Candy-Sullivan, and Rosemary Candy.

John Candy: I Like Me will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video, which is included with an Amazon Prime membership. The membership costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. Amazon also provides discounted membership options for young adults aged 18–24, college students, and qualifying government-assistance recipients. Young adults and students can try Prime for Young Adults with a six-month trial before paying a reduced monthly or annual fee, while government-assistance recipients can access a 30-day trial before paying a lower monthly rate.

Prime Video offers a range of additional content. For example, the platform is also home to New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce, which features NFL insights and pop culture commentary from the Kelce brothers.
