Accenture has announced an expanded collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide digital services for public sector, defense, and national security organizations. The partnership, operating through the Accenture AWS Business Group, aims to create solutions that use cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to lower costs, improve resource management, and enhance citizen services as well as defense operations.
The new offerings will run on AWS’s secure infrastructure and focus on workforce transformation, social service delivery, and mission-driven accelerators. The partnership combines Accenture's industry expertise in cloud, data, and AI with AWS’s advanced cloud capabilities.
One example of this collaboration is the work with the Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS). Rebecca Harris, secretary of Louisiana DCFS, stated: “In collaboration with Accenture and AWS, the Louisiana DCFS is investing in secure, compliant, cloud technology that enhances case management, data sharing, and communication for citizens navigating access to critical support. These tools are helping reduce administrative burdens, boost operational efficiency, and empower staff to focus more on delivering direct services to children and families.”
The companies have identified three main areas for reinvention:
- Workforce Transformation: According to Accenture research, 87% of executives believe AI agents are driving a new era of process transformation. The companies are deploying generative AI solutions to automate tasks in the public sector. Programs such as the AWS Migration Acceleration Program offer migration assessments and credits to help organizations adopt secure cloud technologies.
- Defense and National Security: By leveraging AWS's secure infrastructure designed for sensitive operations, defense agencies can modernize legacy systems while maintaining security standards through features like zero-trust architectures and edge computing.
- Social Service and Health Solutions: The partnership seeks to improve how agencies deliver care by using AI-powered platforms for case management and analytics. This includes efforts such as modernizing eligibility systems in the United States while upholding strict data privacy standards.
